Brandon Calder

VTV Producer | Videographer | Editor | Reporter

Brandon is a Communications graduate from Vanier College. After graduating, he made his way to Concordia where he studied in Sociology. While there, he reconnected with a former high-school friend whom at the time was in the process of creating a sketch comedy group. Utilizing his skills in directing, writing and a little bit of acting (which he learned from Vanier), Brandon joined the group and became the 3rd and final member of Moving Mind Studio. Today the group’s YouTube views are over 8 million and subscribers over 26,000. Brandon has also been working on his own solo projects, last year he raised around $7,000 to shoot his first short film that is nearing completion. When he isn’t busy writing or directing, Brandon can be found in the studio making music. He is excited to bring what he has learned in video production and digital marketing to VTV and help it grow to its full potential!

Kate Petsas

Sports Reporter

Kate is a not so ordinary 17 year old girl, who loves dancing, laughing, talking, and nice long romantic walks… to the fridge. Her father passed away when she was four. She’s been dancing since she was three. He is the reason she continues to dance and why she never wants to stop. Growing up she was bullied a lot, because she was weird, and wasn’t like the others, hence the term “not so ordinary”. She learnt that not everyone will like you, so she surrounds herself with people who make me happy. Without her friends and family she would definitely not be such an outgoing person who isn’t afraid of anything… other than the occasional spider and wasp. She is very open with who she is and what she loves to do. She is the least shy girl anyone will ever meet. It is her first semester at Vanier, in the Child Studies – Social Science program. She strives to become a teacher for kids with disabilities. Helping people is one of her very strong traits. She aspires to graduate Vanier and go to University and graduate from there with a PhD. She’s got a long way to go, so why not make the experience memorable?

Rochelle Bethelmy

Sports Reporter

She is a second year student at Vanier College in Social Science. She’s a fun and outgoing person who loves to read, listen to music and hang out with friends. She especially loves sports because it gives her an opportunity to meet new people. She plays intercity level soccer with a local club, and it is her second year playing on the flag football team with Vanier College. Playing and watching sports has always been one of her favorite things to do, but she wanted something that can help her get more involved not only with school but with the sport teams that comes along with it. And now she is happy to be a part of VTV’s broadcasting team. She wants to help students become interested, or even more, interested in sports just as much as she is.

Massimo

Massimo Triassi

Post-Production Team: Lead Editor | VFX | Creative Team

Massimo Triassi is a Computer Science and Technology student. He went to high school in Laval, at Laurier Senior High School. He’s always been a wizard of the technological age. He learned to browse the internet before he could even run! He even organized and set up an FM radio station at his High School. After that, his love of computers and technology was something he couldn’t escape. He is all about going past what limitations are set for him. As a kid and through out his youth he was captivated by action and superhero movies. This lead to his appreciation for Video Effects. As a result he likes to make cheesy action films with his friends that have lots of special FX. His function at VTV is to make already cool projects awesome! He loves doing VFX and editing, but likes to think that he is versatile enough to do just about anything. Massimo is usually game for just about anything you throw at him as long as he can learn something from it. While his interests change all the time, one thing doesn’t; his drive to make incredible things happen when they seem almost impossible.

He is a dreamer and it is his dream to start a career in film-making and cinematography. He is very excited to start working with such a creative and dynamic team!

Jason Forte

Post-Production Team: Assistant Editor

Jason is currently studying Computer Science Technology at Vanier. He was born and raised here in Montreal and have been regarded by many of my friends and family to have an artistic personality with a very technical mind. His position at VTV takes advantage of both those traits. He is an assistant video editor, and video editing has been a hobby of his for about five years now, dating back to when he was in high school. He had a knack for it, ever since he started, and it feels great to finally turn his hobby into something bigger. He hopes to become an asset here at VTV and is looking forward to the future and all the opportunities it brings.

She is also a huge foodie: she love eating, cooking and trying uncommon foods. She loves to have passionate conversations about social issues such as women rights, sustainability and other topics such as religion and diversity. On her free time, she goes for a run, manages her blogs, reads books, goes on mini adventures to discover new places and Instagrams everything that looks pretty (@haticesmthng). One day, she would like to be able to understand her cat and stop feeling bad for Freud who never got any support for his works.

Emily Duong

Emily is a second-year student in the Health Science program. As an ambitious young person, she is driven to be involved in Vanier and ultimately to give back to this amazing community. For that reason, she is part of the VCSA as a general executive, Vanier’s Peer Support Network, Vanier Key Society, MSC and TLC as a tutor and lastly, VTV as one of the two Instagram Social Media Managers. She will be taking photos at events, then caption them, and finally share them on VTV’s IG feed. In her spare time, she enjoys creating videos on her Youtube channel, jogging, baking, traveling, taking photographs, and playing around on Photoshop, VSCO Cam, and iMovie. She hopes to transmit this adoration through her position at VTV and beyond. She loves to take on new challenges which push her to rethink, refine and rework her ideas as well as push her artistic skills further. Aside from the arts, She has an endless love and fascination for the beauty of nature, and the exhilarating experience of travelling. She believes in the importance of the visual aesthetic aspects in life that enrich our experiences. The breathtaking view from a mountaintop, the sleek, clever design of a product, the efficiency of a poster communicating a message with minimal information, are all examples of things that intrigue her. She is in the graphic arts position of VTV because she absolutely loves offering any kind of help she can provide, especially in the domain of the arts. This will allow her to gain the experience that she wants so that she can continue to build on the experiences that she already has.
